We specialize in USPAP compliant fine art appraisals of paintings, prints, photography, ceramics and sculpture for insurance, charitable donation, equitable distribution and other purposes. We offer in-person and remote options and provide a comprehensive and confidential service you can trust.

Estate Consulting
The responsibility of emptying a property for estate issues is daunting. Using a ‘donate, keep, sell’ methodology, our hands on service will help you categorize and divest items in a considered and timely manner. Please note that this service does not include a written report or removal of items from the property.

Inventory Services
A thorough inventory of your items helps to ensure you have appropriate insurance protection and takes some of the stress out of insurance claims or estate work. Our inventory reports contain high-resolution images and are provided in hard copy and digital format. They are best leveraged for items of lesser monetary value that do not require an appraisal report.

Founder Hayley Sykes earned her BA in Art History from Virginia Commonwealth University and has over 10 years’ experience in fine art valuation services. Dwell Fine Art appraisals are in compliance with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and the Ethical standards of The American Society of Appraisers (ASA) the oldest Appraisal Society in the United States and an acknowledged leader in personal property appraising.
What to expect.
An intake meeting is conducted via telephone, the appropriate service selected, and arrangements are made to examine the items (in-person is preferred). We take high-resolution digital photographs and record a detailed description of each object. If Appraisal or Inventory services have been selected, each item is researched leveraging our extensive reference library, subscription-based databases and professional network before a formal report is submitted in writing.
